Following the recent release of his book, Nineteen, author Adam Robarts will be on tour in September and October, visiting Canada, the U.S., and the U.K. Nineteen is an uplifting book of profound and inspiring reflections based on the true story of Robarts' son, Haydn, who at 19-years-old faced his physical demise from a rare and aggressive brain cancer.
While the ordeal was awful, Robarts describes the journey alongside his son as nourishing, rewarding and even joyous. During the tour, Robarts will bring audiences into some of the lessons learned from Haydn's approach to living and dying with a beautifully potent blend of personal stories, reflections, universal truths and essential learnings that unify science, religion and the need for faith in both. Ultimately, he seeks to begin a conversation that inspires an approach to living more fully by contemplating death.
During the Nineteen tour, Robarts will be joined by Irish singer-songwriter Luke Slott, who will enrich the conversation with some of his recent music dedicated to Haydn. While the Nineteen tour will appeal to a wide audience, it carries a special focus on accessing teenagers and young adults at schools and universities. The intention comes from the hope of raising an awareness of what is possible for their lives as they face a multitude of choices. The tour also includes parent groups, hospitals, community centers and a youth prison.
Join us on Friday evening, September 16, 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the Linsalata Alumni Center at CWRU, 11310 Juniper Road, Cleveland, OH. We'll have a delightful evening of discussion mixed with Luke Slott's wonderful music.
